‘Agriculture Park in Wana’

The newly constructed Agriculture park in Wana, the regional headquarter to South Waziristan is kickoff to functional. The park will play an important role to boost Agriculture business after peace back to South Waziristan. The newly agriculture park is socioeconomic uplift programme for Tribal districts of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa. The park is not only facilitating locals but also open ways for the central corridor with Afghanistan and neighboring countries.
ALam Khan Mahsud, 25, is an owner of a vegetable shop in local market of headquarter city of South Waziristan. He facing problem and calling hiatic day when he goes to Tank about approximately 60km away from main city of South Waziristan to brought fresh vegetable for his shop. “It’s one of the long processing day to go to open market in staled area and bring vegetable for own shop. It’s not just hiatic day but also consumed time and inflation in price, Mahsud added.
After functional this project, the local shopkeepers find a way of hope for the availability of vegetable on daily basis at their door steps. He said “After opening such project this could help to bring fresh vegetable, consume time and most all vegetable provided to all on government rates.
The park is one of its kind in the region which contain market complex, five warehouses, Bank, Hotel, Pine-Nut plant, Hawker Sheds, cold storage and other structures. The Mega project will host 50 kind of business in which 703 people will get employment while 1038 people will facilitated as labor from local populace.
Mujeeb Ur Rehman, 45, is a contractor in Agriculture Park Wana. He elaborate the project and call it the new phase of Waziristan. He said “This is one of the good project for the rehabilitation of locals as the area was a home to war in terrors from last decade. He said that “it will help locals to stand on their feet’s after intense operations and Terrorism. He elaborate that “we have one of the best Pine Nuts and Fruits, across the border Afghanistan and Federally Administrative Tribal Area (FATA). This project will be hub for the Agriculture business which will benefits the country’s economy.
He suggest to the government to launch such kind projects in other part of the newly tribal districts as well. “Government should need to construct such kind of Projects which will help economy of the country and most an opportunity for locals to contribute in Agriculture and other sector, Rehman added.
The region contribute 29 % (11,372 Tons) in Pakistan’s vegetable production which 73 % s Bitter Gourd, 40 % Brinjl, 33 % Tomatoes and 21 % is Lady Fingers while the Fruit capacity is 71 % (70,043 Tons) in which the production of Allple is 92 %, Almond 82 %, Peach 40 % and Grips is 37% of the region.
This Structure of this project dabble the beauty of Waziristan, say’s Muhammad Gulab Wazir, a local elder of South Waziristan. He said “This project is ray of hope for local production in Agriculture sector along with local Pine Nuts in the region. “Before the region don’t have such systematic business of agriculture sector but after this it will benefits locals along with business in South Waziristan, Wazir added.
He calls the project one of the attractions for others in bossiness sector. He said “Such kind of facilitate in Park will attract local and increase in business opportunity in the region”, Wazir elaborate.
The security situation in KP and newly merged districts had registered improvement in 2017 and along 50 per cent reduction in number of terrorist incidents. As a result of the improved security situation climate for the investment of international businessman had also shown improvement.
Among like many other, Gul Mar Khan, 35, is a truck driver, brought a loaded truck with Pine Nuts from Afghanistan. He calls the project as facilitation for the truck drivers across the borders. “Such park for agriculture on a few hours way from Angoor Adda in South along with Ghulam Khan in North (Pak Afg Borders) is not only facilitation to the drivers came across from Afghanistan but also a wave of relief and attraction for business of two neighboring countries Afghanistan and Pakistan”. He mentioned the bad old days of the region as worse nightmare for the business. “Before we take these Pine Nuts to the other part of Pakistan which make the cost dabble and most the life of the trucks get to its worse due to such long rotes”, Khan added. After opening the Agriculture Park, he marked the year as most profitable year for the businessman. “Before I took these Pine Nuts to Peshawar in which the profit ratio was 30,00 to 3,500 US dollars per month but this year the ratio increase to 6,500 US dollars profit and it’s all about Agriculture Park in Wana, Khan mentioned.

2019 මාර්තු මස වන විට ශ්රී ලංකාවේ විදෙස් ජාතික ශ්රමිකයන් 28, 591 දෙනෙක් ලියාපදිංචි වී සිටින බවත් විදේශීය ශ්රමිකයන් සදහා ලබාදන ක්රියාකාරී සේවා නියුක්ති බලපත්රද ඔවුන් සඳහා නිකුත් කර ඇති බවත් ආගමන හා විගමන දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව පවසනවා.
ඒ අනුව පෞද්ගලික අංශයේ ව්යාපෘති සඳහා බලපත්ර 7,991ක්, පෞද්ගලික අංශයේ සමාගම් සදහා බලපත්ර 10,354ක්, බී.ඕ.අයි. ව්යාපෘති සඳහා බලපත්ර 10,077ක්, ඉදිකිරීම් ක්ෂේත්රය සඳහා බලපත්ර 169ක් නිකුත් කර තිබෙනවා.
ඒ අතුරින් චීන ජාතිකයන් සඳහා සේවා නියුක්තික වීසා බලපත්ර 10,384ක් සහ ඉන්දියානු ජාතිකයන් සඳහා සේවා නියුක්තික වීසා බලපත්ර 11,095ක් නිකුත් කර තිබෙනවා.
2019 පෙබරවාරි මස 15 වැනිදා දක්වා ආගමන විගමන දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව නිකුත් කර තිබූ නේවාසික වීසා අතර ප්රධාන රටවල් 5ක් සඳහා වීසා නිකුත් කර තිබේ.
ආගමන විගමන දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින් වීසා නිකුත් කර ඇති වීසා සංඛ්යාවට වැඩි විදෙස් ජාතිකයන් සංඛ්යාවක් මෙරට සේවය කරන බවද වාර්තාවනවා.

Anushka Madubashini
The intricate emotional process which is very much a applied process is also instinctive when it comes to innately gifted singers such as Anushka Madubashini. Anushka hails from ‘Devata’ a small village close to Galle. She was a past pupil of Sangamitta Girls College Galle. She had been handicapped from her young days since her father’s demise when she was in Grade three only nine years old. Calamity struck her family as her mother had to boost the family which comprised of another younger sister against many restrictions.
Anushka was nevertheless strong-minded to excel in studies and art accomplishing many milestones in music at school. As a teenager she had won several All -Island awards consecutively in singing from year 2003 to 2008, a unique achievement. She possesses a wide vocal range and could sing folk to pop songs.
The exposure of innate abilities to sing was after her performances in Derana Dream Star season two, eight years ago. She was a forerunner for the title, however owing to the rampant SMS precedent she was eliminated. It is pertinent to cite that Anushka gathered accolades from explicit invites like Vasantha Dukgannarala,Lakshman Wijesekera,Indrani Perera,Annesly Malewena,Bathiya and Santhush etc. The former quipped that Anushka possesses a traditional folk voice while the latter duo were delighted with her voice and singing style added that she sings with a lot of soul for the audience to “feel” which is primarily what a singer should possess in abundance.
Anushka won Sri Lanka youth awards in singing category in years 2014 and 2015. She dislikes fame and desires to stay low profile. She is very reserved type who does not speak much. After her triumph in the Dream Star contest when there was ample prospect for her to rise to stardom, nevertheless she persisted to be low profile. Anushka had snubbed offers astonishing many in the field by not accepting offers to sing. Her voyage in this conservative field was snail’s tempo with no intent for monetary growths.
She hardly sang on stage but only selected to sing only at random and of course willingly for charity. What was haunting in her was to pursue a career for a University degree in Ethnomusicology. Her dream was met when she was selected to the University of Visual and Performing Arts. After graduation obtaining bachelor’s degree with 1st Class honours she opted initially for a year to be the music teacher at the Lyceum International School in Galle. However, she wished as prudent to accept considering a career in music a post of visiting lecturer at the University of Visual and Performing Arts to date where she got the opportunity to lecture in the same department, she studied practical and research Music. Her contemporary aspiration on which she is working on now is to read for a PhD in Ethnomusicology in an overseas University preferably in Germany. When she achieves this ambition Anushka’s fervent wish would be to impart her vast expertise to the massive Sri Lankan music arena as the first in Sri Lanka conferred on a PhD in her field.
Owing to her demanding and cumbersome agenda in travelling to and from Colombo from native humble home in Devata close to Galle, of course added with her University obligations, during her last few years she had only concentrated in working in “Derana Dell Studio” with music titan Mahesh Denipitiya whom she asserts as her music maestro and also at Singhagiri studio. Anushka had toured Melbourne once with the Derana Dream Star colleagues in year 2010, twice in the latter years had toured all states in Australia with the Mahesh Denepitiya orchestra where she was primarily a chorus singer. It was only in February this year she participated in the Mahesh Denepitiya’s “Hitz Beatz” at Nelum Pokuna theatre. The justification of Anushka’s snail’s tempo stance is well illustrated by the reality that Anushka’s first audio song “Ridunu then jeevithe bomai” which was officially launched only last year. The music route was by Aruna Gunawardena whilend lyrics by Amila Thenuwara. She won the best music award in State music awards for this song in year 2018.
In the context of the above it would be the fervent wish of all music lovers to diagnose Anushka’s desires in her coveted melodious voyage.

Hyundai Lanka Pvt. Ltd, the sole authorised importer and distributor for Hyundai brands in Sri Lanka, appointed Sadath Nizar as the General Manager for After-sales with effect 1st January, 2019.
Sadath who is a highly qualified automobile professional with over 20 years of experience in the automobile industry, out of which 10 years account for building global brands such as Volkswagen and Audi will be responsible for all aspects of Hyundai’s After-sales strategy and deployment.
