පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රි රන්ජන රාමණායක මිට සුළු මොහොතකට පෙර පොලිසිය විසින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන තිබෙනවා. ඒ බලපත්‍ර අලුත් නොකරන ලද ගිනි අවියක් ළඟ තබා ගැනීම සහ පතොරම් 127ක් ළඟ තබා ගැනීමේ චෝදනාව මතයි.

මන්ත්‍රිවරයා සතුව තිබු ගිනි අවිය සඳහා අවසන් වරට බලපත්‍රය ලබාගෙන ඇත්තේ 2016 වසරේදී බවයි පොලිසිය සිදුකළ විමර්ශනයේදී හෙළිවී ඇත්තේ.

මෙම ගිනි අවිය සහ පතොරම් වලට අමතරව රන්ජන් රාමණායක මන්ත්‍රිවරයාගේ නිවසේ තිබී සැකකටයුතු ලේඛණ කිහිපයක්, CD තැටි කිහිපයක්, දෘඩ තැටි තුනක් සහ පරිගණක දෙකක් පොලිසිය විසින් සිය භාරයට ගෙන තිබෙනවා.

ජේෂ්ඨ පොලිස් නිලධාරියෙක් සඳහන් කලේ රන්ජන් රාමණායක මන්ත්‍රිවරයා ගෙන් අද දිනයේදී ප්‍රකාශ සටහන් කර ගැනීමෙන් අනතුරුව හෙට (05) දිනයේදී නුගේගොඩ මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණය හමුවට ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට කටයුතු කරන බවයි.

බස්නාහිර දකුණ පළාත් භාර අපරාධ කොට්ඨාශයේ නිලධාරීන් විසින් නුගේගොඩ මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණයෙන් ලබා ගත් සෝදිසි වරෙන්තුවක් මත මාදිවෙල මන්ත්‍රි නිල නිවාස සංකීර්ණයේ පිහිටි රන්ජන් රාමණායක මන්ත්‍රිවරයාගේ නිවස පරික්ෂා කරනු ලැබුවා

A Swiss Embassy employee who was arrested and remanded after she claimed she was kidnapped and released, was granted bail today.

The employee was arrested on 16 December the grounds of falsifying evidence.

The local employee was produced before a Magistrate and remanded till today.

The Criminal Investigations Department had been instructed to name and arrest the Swiss embassy employee and produce her before courts for falsifying evidence

Donald Trump became the third sitting president in U.S. history to be impeached, as the House of Representatives approved on Wednesday the first of two charges against him: that he abused the power of his office by pressuring Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 election on his behalf.

The House approved the first article of impeachment, charging the president with abuse of power, by a vote of 230 to 197 at 8:34 p.m. after a daylong debate. Of the 233 Democrats, 228 voted in favor, along with the House’s one Independent. Two Democrats opposed the measure. No Republicans voted in favor.

United National Party (UNP) Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa says he will not contest the next Parliamentary election as the UNP Prime Ministerial candidate if he is not made the UNP party leader.

Premadasa also said that he is prepared to step back if a majority in the party do not want him.

Speaking at an event today, Premadasa said that he will not attempt to take any personal decisions regarding his future in the party.

He says if a majority in the party want him to move forward he will and if they want him to step back he is prepared to do that as well.

Premadasa, who contested and lost the last Presidential election, said that he will take fully responsibility of the outcome of the election.

“The buck stops here,” Premadasa said.

කොළඹ රාජකීය විද්‍යාලයේ පිහිටි ජන්ද මධ්‍යස්ථානයේ රාජකාරියේ නිරතව සිටි නිලධාරීන් 51 දෙනෙක් ආහාර විෂවීම හේතුවෙන් කොළඹ ජාතික රෝහලට ඇතුලත් කර තිබෙනවා. ඒ අතර සිවිල් ආරක්ෂක බලකායේ නිලධාරීන් 04 දෙනෙකු ද සිටියි.

කොළඹ ජාතික රෝහලේ ප්‍රකාශකයෙක් සඳහන් කලේ උදෑසන ලබාදුන් ආහාර විෂවීම හේතුවෙන් මෙම පිරිස රෝහලට ගෙනා බවයි. මේ වන විට එම සියලු නිලධාරීන් ප්‍රතිකාර සඳහා රෝහලේ නේවාසික වාට්ටු වෙත යොමු කර තිබෙන බවයි.
